چکیده
Background: The special concentrically braced frame (SCBF) is an aseismic structure, but its bracing system exhibits brittle failure and premature buckling connected with the weld fracture of gusset plate post-buckling braces; thus, maximizing role energy dissipation difficult. Methods: Here, this paper proposes a single-story frames ductile casting steel connectors. large inelastic deformation mainly concentrated in connectors under earthquake, degree can be reduced. finite element model central support was established by ABAQUS. Monodirectional loading simulations were conducted on 12 groups specimens different parameters, then trend, stress distribution, initial stiffness, ductility analyzed. Results: seismic behavior evaluated variable parameters width-thickness ratio stiffener, length segment overstrength coefficient. connector conducts main that exhibit good stiffness. Conclusion: study results provided direct evidence performance closely associated coefficient axial force. Also, members independently controlled reasonably designing connector.

Evaluating Response Modification Factors of Concentrically Braced and Special Moment Steel Frames in Duplex Buildings
Response modification factor (R-factor) is one of the seismic design parameters to consider nonlinear performance of building structures during strong earthquake. Relying on this, many seismic design codes led to reduce earthquake loads imposed to the structure. The present paper tries to evaluate the R-factors of conventional concentric braced frames (CBFs) and special moment frames (MRFs) in ...
متن کاملSeismic Behavior of Asymmetric Two-Story X-braced Frames
Concentrically braced frames (CBFs) are one of the efficient lateral load resisting systems in high seismicity regions. One of the common problems with the use of concentrically braced frames is limitation in the architectural application and position of the openings. Two-story X braced frames have more advantages than other configurations of concentrically braced frames, since in many cases th...

متن کاملConcentrically Braced Frames: European vs. North American Seismic Design Provisions
A critical review of seismic design provisions for concentrically braced frames (CBFs) in both European and North American (i.e. US and Canadian) codes is presented in this paper. Indeed, even though those codes are based on capacity design philosophy, different requirements and different approaches are used to guarantee the hierarchy of resistances between dissipative and non-dissipative eleme...
متن کاملNonlinear Analysis of Steel Frames with Ductile Connections
One of the typically damaged steel beam-column connection during the Northridge earthquake of 1994 was bolted-web, welded-flange (BWWF), now known as “pre-Northridge” connection. Proposed post-Northridge connections are more ductile and capable of dissipating more energy, thus improving the behavior of steel moment resisting frames (SMRF). The post-Northridge connections with added ductility wi...
